Announcing the first of our judges

Hello All 

We are moving forward swiftly with this years Abbeyfest Doco Film Competition and are delighted to welcome Vanessa Gildea of Loopline Films on board as our first judge. 

Vanessa is one of Ireland's most high profile filmmakers and Loopline, under the creative control of Se Merry Doyle, Vanessa and Martina Durac, have been producing a a wide range of documentaries and factual programming for the likes of RTE, TG4, TV3, the Irish Film Board, the Arts Council and BBC NI since its formation in 1992.

In other news, Crewger and Abbeyfest have recently established an Historical Society and a Film Society in the town of Abbeyleix in order to facilitate the development of this competition over the coming months and years.
